Representatives of Federal, State and Local governments were invited to a morning tea on Monday, 24 May at U3A Centre, Kallangur.
Builders Geoff and David Chapman attended the function and were congratulated for this wonderful addition. The efforts of Past President Andy and Val Doogan, who were instrumental in obtaining, after much work and with great determination, a permanent venue for U3A Pine Rivers, were acknowledged.
Immediate Past President, Lyn Browne, directed the three walls’ project and the enclosure of the deck to create a much–needed fifth classroom. Centre Manager, John Wright, worked tirelessly submitting IWAs to the Council and obtaining quotes and supervising various works. Committee Members were very supportive of these plans.
The Committee felt it was appropriate to acknowledge the financial support received from all levels of government for the constructing of walls between the rooms, enclosing the deck and facility improvements, e.g. LED lighting and function chairs.
